The IUFS is, in essence, a secular and public, permanently operating, comprehensive international research institution, multifunctional in its chosen aims and objectives; at the same time, the IUF consciously conducts its diverse activities outside the realms of politics and religion. Its fundamental nature in no way implies ‘fundamentalism’ as understood by any particular religious denomination.
At the same time, the nomenclature of academic degrees and titles awarded by the Intergovernmental Higher Academic Council under the IUFS includes academic specialisations related to the study of various religions and religiously significant phenomena, which broadens and refines scientific understanding of humanity’s spiritual life in the past and present.
The fundamental basis of all IUFS’s activities is the ‘Philosophy of Interaction’ – a philosophy of the 21st century that enables us to understand and explain many real phenomena of the most diverse levels and nature, which cannot be explained from traditional perspectives, and which contributes to the internal rapprochement of different peoples and cultures, their mutual enrichment and complementarity, and the strengthening of world peace on our planet.
The International Council of the IUFS awards honorary international academic degrees and titles to outstanding public, political, cultural and religious figures who have made a significant contribution to strengthening interaction between different peoples, thereby promoting their spiritual rapprochement and mutual understanding. This in no way imparts any political or religious character to the activities of the IUFS and the International Scientific Council under the IUFS.
The IUFS has always been and remains a secular and public international scientific research institution.
