Statement from MUFO-PRESS:
In light of the recent enquiries received by the Rector’s Office and the IUFS Secretariat—from both academic staff and doctoral students from various cohorts—requesting clarification on the status of the diplomas awarded, the University’s position regarding current global developments and conflicts, and the future of the University as a whole, the President of IUFS, Professor Santi P. Jayasekera, has issued a statement in which he reiterated that the International University of Fundamental Education is a secular and public, permanently operating, comprehensive international research institution, multifunctional in its chosen aims and objectives, whilst the International University of Fundamental Education consciously conducts its diverse activities outside the realms of politics and religion.
It is precisely this balanced stance that has enabled our university to exist and operate for many years, and to build its presence within the global academic community. At present, despite various COVID-19-related restrictions, a branch of the IUFS has been opened in Paris (France), and active work is under way to open a IUFS branch in Dubai (UAE). It is precisely the restrictions linked to the global epidemiological situation. No political or economic restrictions affect our University or the legitimacy of the documents it issues, emphasised Professor Jayasekera.
The President of IUFS called on his colleagues to work calmly and productively, and wished everyone good health and further creative successes.
